More info on Dr. Margaret Ashton here.

And in my opinion, she's likely less concerned about the body count than said body count's likelihood of forestalling further experiments.

Thanks, Cent-Comm!

I reckon it's the cell shading and the lack of color saturation.

Your opinion is awfully close to the thoughts of how her creator thinks she would apprise the situation...

Maggie's looking GREAT in your style, lirv! I am eager to see this scene's climax!

Also, "Mandated Surgical Volunteers"? Like, these are our fodder?

Any way it goes, I feel bad for Chuck, being on that list.

Prof, I'm bouncing around and there is no further screen time for Dr. Ashton in W&L.

However

That won't stop me from trolling the shit out of your enthusiasm in MSV.

In retrospect, Dr. Ashton comes across as unnecessarily and unambiguously cruel in this sequence.

It still works because Maggie tends to blend in with the company she keeps...

(Dr. Ashton has little ego but a lot of drive.)

Huh, multiple PhDs but no MD? Curiouser and curiouser that she can receive a stream of patients out of the VA system at all. One might wonder what her motivation, or motivations, in all this could be. One might wonder just what the relevant people in the VA might think she's up to. One might wonder just how bad the cafeteria food where she works is.

Eh, MD's can be rented out. And without one, Dr. Aston isn't held back by that silly Hippocratic oath...

I am taking this half seriously because I am still not sure how Sonia controlled him back then.

Chuck isn't quite that complicated, but I can explain it pretty simply:
"Sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me."

They seem pretty confident that the supply will not diminish, which is scary.

There's a page back in the first chapter that shows that. Yes, the name they gave him at the orphanage is "Charles Braun".
