Some experimentation with unconventional formatting and rendering clouds... feel free to throw tomatoes.

Edit: here's the deal--I look back two years ago at my art, I wanna vomit. I look back one year ago, I still wanna boot. If I wanna keep this intense, life-affirming nausea going for another year, I gotta find new ways to up my art game, and y'all got to suffer through the experiments. #nosurgewithoutthepurge

Yeah yeah I'm shamelessly fishing for compliments. However, functionally speaking, landscapes may feature prominently in the next volume of Let It Ride.

Experiment successful, sir. It has a very... I want to say organic or nostalgic feel... probably organic. Looks GREAT at any rate.

Vague nostalgia courtesy of Manga Studio "soft light" filter.

Dem clouds is tasty, but I'll tell you something that's not a secret: Hitler washed out of his admissions testing for art school because he failed at human figure drawing. Don't fail like Hitler, we've already got enough genocidal maniacs running around in politics!

Also, is Eric giving Felicia a car, free, clear, and with legal ownership and everything?

I am aware of that nasty quirk of history and it makes me smile every time I break out the landscapes.

In that vein, I would encourage you to look in this thread before you form any opinions on my "human figure drawing".

Granted, I lie, cheat, and steal throughout all of my "artwork", as it seems to keep y'all entertained. So let me pose this question my sarcastic, nasty non-subscribing, non-PM'ing greatly appreciated reader: who would you like drawn as a pinup?

Your figure drawing is currently too much of a moving target for me to have any firm opinions on it. It does look like it's moving in a praiseworthy direction, and the progress made deserves a compliment. Unfortunately, I'm bad at those so I'll have to ask someone else to give that. Uhm, would you please help me out here ProfEtheric?

If it weren't too difficult to find good references for it, I'd want young and sexy Arundhati Roy in her 20s or early 30s. If you're asking me for a drawing project to do that may take too much research, so I'll give an easier fallback: Failing that, young and pretty Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis doing things more appropriate for Sasha Grey.

P.S. You missed arrogant, capricious, contrary, hypercritical, pedantic, pseudointellectual, and my variable tendency to troll. Those were probably intentional omissions to keep the sentence from getting too long though. :)

What's with your Copyright line - "Goodbye MadJak"?

I finally dispatched Madjak in single combat--he will no longer be an issue.

Edit: MJ's off having other adventures, eating burgers somewhere. He'll be all right.

Nice job on the scenery.
I hate drawing clouds.

Not to be totally mean, RD, but "outside" is not a prominently featured setting in Claustrophobia Inc. Dyerin's Line.

For organic backgrounds I just can't see how linework can compete with painting in terms of speed and emotion.

See the comment to Stever for where I'm getting inspiration for this stuff.

Haha! I also suffer from old-art-induced nausea... Seriously, I have a comic project I have been postponing for years only because it looks so much better in my mind than anything I can draw. There, this might be the first time I admit to that...
