That question was directed at your *revised* author comment. It seemed necessary.
Seriously, I like the Bull Shit signs and Tona's apparent interest in something that looks like prison porn... OF HERSELF.

Did 30 minutes of work on this page yesterday, lost it all to a program crash. My catchup work was largely sufficient. Largely.

But yes, glad you appreciate those elements. I assure you that later commenters will explain the origin of that uh film.

I see. It would be fairly trippy to find porn starring someone who is a stand-in for yourself. Shame she doesn't get a penny or significant standing to sue since her story was news and the subject of legal proceedings. (If they deliberately falsify things in ways that could be considered libelous maybe, but that still takes money and a sympathetic judge.)

I also approve of not copying Walmart corporate messaging. The reasons are twofold: The first is that copying Walmart corporate messaging is questionable under copyright unless you can line it straight down one of your country's legal exceptions to strict copyright laws (which vary wildly between countries actually). The second, and better, reason is that corporate promotions language in a big box store like that tends to be some combination of shameless lying and evil spells to brainwash people, so it is evil (and ought to be punishable as a capital offense) to copy or use it anywhere.

Did they... They did.
Oh my god. Who? Probably one of the scared guards.
Now I am not sure if it was not featured on the fake KickStarter page though maybe that was Vol. 2. Hm.

At some point Prof is going to (drunkenly) wander into these comments and explain what exactly Tona's looking at there... "Lightbringer Studios" being the operative phrase.

First of all... WELCOME BACK JAK!!!!!!

The work in question is, in universe, a product of an independent movie studio known as Lightbringer Studios. They have made a series of (low budget) films based off of the book Sherman's Highway (which would have its major studio film version released under the name Burn Atlanta 2 tha Ground).

Seriously, though. It's good to see you around these parts, Jak!

Thanks!
I remember that studio now from that page.

I thought someone made a recording and it leaked to be made into a sleazy cheap movie.
At least it is not cheap like this. Perhaps :D

What's funny is that sign was a last minute add because I didn't feel like researching corporate signage in Walmart.

In other circumstances that would be a likely reaction.

So the movie is based on Sam's book and created by Lightbringer Studios?
Does Lightbringer Studios exist in any other universes?

Lightbringer Studios of Autumn Bay made a completely unauthorized trilogy of movies that are in no way endorsed by Sam Christianos or University of Wisconsin Press or Tona Zehm... or me.

Don't let Prof tell you anything different. Those films are pure exploitative trash... with lots and lots and lots of "patting of bums", especially in the third one.

Exploitative and trashy does not necessarily equal pornography, this work being an example.

Tangentially, Tona's not allowed to possess firearms.
