Alexander's using that term of industry in order to be a dick.

It's just another way of saying "encrypt your damn hard drive".

What do we expect from a company that has successfully defended against the infamous Chevalier Rouge?

For some reason, this whole arc has kept my attention... like it's relevant to my interests and such...

The last few pages are gonna look like a minor tussle in Manchuria when you see what's coming next... get ready to empty the goddamn benches and then some.

Also I think we can agree that the CR currently has a way more demented problem to deal with than Augustus and Guardian Edge.

(wink wink nudge)

And secondly why would you brag about holding off an infamous Advanced Persistent Threat? Wouldn't that be like putting up a bunch of neon lights saying "Everest this way"?! I mean, that could only get people interested.

What you call painting a target, certain H.R. directors might call "recruiting drives". Of course, these "H.R. directors" may not actually have Aegis Securitech's best interests in mind...

You just discovered I do it to monitor how Americans and Canadians think for a similar approach as Japan's attack on the US in the form of Pokémon.

Well, go ahead then!

Men shudder and pull themselves to their feet and the call for damage reports goes out to the spaces over the phones.

"Sir, coming to course-" the conning officer starts, but the Old Man holds up his hand, aborting the order.

"Close aboard," he says, his brow hard, "but pure luck, pure luck on their part. Continue to aggressively close with the battle group and prepare to go to periscope depth."

Is this how you write hidden meanings nowadays?
Interesting.

aw shucks - it has no more hidden meaning than 'data-at-rest encryption' [nice one Lir :)]

I live right on the sea - it floods us, it rages storms upon us, it erodes the coast several feet a year... protection always comes/came at a price :p

Now why do you have to go and say that?

Dammit, Prof. I'm a discovery writer. I come up with this shit on the fly. Which means that when you (and others) raise questions like that, my brain is forced to respond--in this case, by dredging up potential plot points from March.

Guh... I guess we're not going to avoid a trip to Anvil Flats...
