Specifically they are Staff Sergeant Jackson, Specialist Avila, and PFC Brown.

They are not dead.

Yet.

Ok, ok, I was thinking about this myself, but I need to edit this bad boy and put "2007" in the upper left hand corner. This ties in with my 30 days of characters, and yes, Bish gets a cameo (also a flashback of sorts).

This happened in 2007, you'll see on the next page.

And this is all my "between chapter" material, dammit.

I was wondering if there was a connection to another work which has since gone away (cryptic reference is cryptic ftw).

These next few pages are a very quick and mostly morally unambiguous take of the events at Muftarak and their aftermath for one of the parties affected.

Emphasis on "mostly".

Rashomon, anyone?

Depending on how hard I work tonight, you may see it tomorrow!

"Based on characters by F. T. Benjamins and David Hickmon"

Felicia Kingsley is the most obvious transplant so far, but I assure you you'll be seeing a hell of a lot more of AB in a couple weeks... and I'm not talking about Prof's relaunch.

lirvilas has asked nicely to do non-nice things to some of my people... That being said, even I am unsure what hell he's raining down...

But yes, it is more-or-less official that AB is connected to the LIRverse.

I am glad you strike-through-ed that.
You can only thank yourself and I agree.

I remember the time when power plants exploded with a yellow perfectly "x2/a2 + y2/b2 = 1" explosion with blue dots.
You since introduced these AMAZING explosions and smokes.
Pat on the back, bruh :)

Oh cool!
I am guessing this is about Tona in Iraq (who else). I have actually wanted to ask before if there is going to be more about her exploits (literally) in Iraq or if it is something that would need a comic of its own OR just not that important to the story at hand.
I have a flashback to THAT page in Vol.2. That was when I understood this lirvilas dude is much more than he seemed and that this thing is worth all my attention. I needed ONE page.

2007... I was a 16y old brat who thought it is just good guys going to defeat bad guys :/

1) This brief sequence is not about Tona, though she is a supporting character.

2) This scene is one of those stories that gets retold multiple times from multiple angles... it does warrant its own (completed) comic at some point.

3) There's a couple pages that fit your description in Vol 2... could you shoot me a link?

4) Iraq was all about one thing and one thing only: REVENGE. (And not for the obvious "excuse" of 9/11.) Sure you could read about all kinds of nuances and sociopolitical theories and shit, but I recommend this instead.

3) This page.

4) I get your point. I talked with multiple people, got multiple answers ranging from conspiracy theories to outright US hate.
I am not enough politically minded to talk about it on a proper level so that is why I always just absorbed those opinions and compared.
When 9/11 happened in 2001... well... I was 10. I saw it on the TV. To a kid... It was pure logic: They killed people, we need to attack them.
I will drop this now.
