Jaysus. My computer's melting down, got no time for myself that doesn't come at the cost of sleep, and it's raining outside. Boo hoo.

Yikes, hope it's a replaceable hardware problem or trivial software problem instead of something serious.

I believe Captain Happy probably just made the right choice, but sometimes it may happen that one must drink from the proverbial poisoned well of unjust means to attain survival of things that are important. One should never celebrate it though, or those heirs to the pragmatism of Robin Hood who do it.

@ lirvilas: Stay strong, Brother! I also hope it's a fairly easy fix.

Also, this is spot on for Captain Happy. I can only assume he's taking that car (and its broken, beaten, and damned passenger) on a road trip. At least as far as LAX.

@ AC: The way Captain Happy is acting is in line with what I have told lirvilas. Specifically, he will murder, commit arson, destroy anything he needs to, and generally be a monster in furtherance of his goal, but if he even SUSPECTS that innocents will be harmed, he will find an alternative solution. Period.

In his eyes, that is the one line that separates him from those he fights against. That line is sacrosanct.

Yes, this may one day be his undoing.

Also, Felicia is an important asset to him.

These lines are the genesis of why Tona will be able to trap Happy into standing and fighting against overwhelming odds instead of just retreating and letting booby traps do his work... also, this will prompt some decidedly mixed loyalties on the ABPD.

@Prof: Something something Clinton.

@AC: My computing issue is one problem that money can solve. However, I don't have the time to spend said money right now (and migrate software/archives)... just gonna ride this machine down into the ground until September.

@Prof: Something something Trump.

Prof, "trolls" are magical creatures and you know my policy on those...

Anyway, I think there's a pretty good chance that Captain Happy makes good his escape and we'll see some more of him down the line.

Plan B is pretty much the same as Plan A, except without the social conscience.

Don't worry Eric there are a lot more plans in the alphabet.

I guess we better hope we don't end up with plan "C" or "D".

Considering that they all are probably worse than the one before it. XD

Per avatar, are you bald?

And yeah, the plans just get more explosive/murderous as we advance up the alphabet.

Yeah, I'm bald now. When I'm doing stories from Cork and Blotto they take place in the 1990s (when I had tons of hair), so my avatar reflects that. XD

I would go straight for Plan C because you at least have enough data from hypothetical A and B failures which are common so C is probably planned with that in mind. Hm.

Plan C involves crashing an airplane or two.

Yes.

And on another level he resents being manipulated.

Lastly--and most practically--charging into unfamiliar territory against a building filled with armed adversaries doesn't strike him as a particularly effective use of his time.
