Again I'm on travel and I can't assure you that I'll hash out my usual slop on Wednesday.

However... I probably should. Because someone you might know just started up the body count.

....Oh shit level clusterfsck. I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever get a coherent explanation of why Tona's self-appointed lawyers got kacked, and this finale looks like it may be an entire order of magnitude more complicated and tangled.

On further thought I have to congratulate you for something most people don't even think about very much: Good job on rendering the fog of war, most fiction utterly fails at it, or doesn't even try.

First, a little amateur LIRology...

@ AC: This page, panel 2: The FBI agent (from all the way back in Let It Return) is calling in a "loose end" after hearing Lakedaemon go on about Eric Macdonald (and seemingly having pieced together some of Maerc's plans).

The "corpse" in the trunk here may have a clearer idea of what happened, having been front and center at the courthouse (blue coat, brown hair in panel 1, just like this page) when it happened (which is why MSV has been after her since then). Now they have her, and they have designs that have been thwarted by Captain Happy (a seeming ally - panel 8 - of Eric).

This is all, of course, subject to correction by the man behind the curtain in the red jacket.

Now for my commentary on THIS page:

@ lirv: I'm sorry, sir, but HELL FUCKING YES! GET 'IM!

That's not a story though. Hunting the terrorist lunatic Eric McDonald is something any number of bounty hunters and federal agencies can be assumed to do just because it's how they earn their pocket change, it's not surprising or news at all. Trying to use one of his known accomplices against him isn't even news although I'll grant that it's a little sleazy on account of the whole pregnant mother thing. SWAT teams regularly laugh off worse breaches than endangering known criminals though. I don't get how anything Demon might have said actually needed to be covered up for any reason at all besides attempting to lull Eric into thinking it might be safe to visit Tona. He may be unbalanced but he doesn't seem to be nearly stupid enough to walk into an obvious trap like visiting his known family.

The items Eric left behind at the Zehm trailer (which were consequently retrieved by Demon) are a clear trail of evidence to a bigger and (I'm guessing) far more nefarious plan by Elliot Maerc that Eric found while trying to reclaim Sonja's heart.

I'm guessing it's far larger than Maerc's membership in the LA branch of Starry Wisdom.

My guess: there is some bit of truth in Eric's ramblings.

And remember, we did not get the fullness of Demon's speech bubble, owing to the trademark lirvilas speech bubble obfuscation.

All in all, if there was not something bigger in play, why have they been after Felicia all this time?

I don't know why they've been after Felicia all this time, or why people offed Demon. Politics by assassination is an expensive and messy way of doing things, favoured mostly by dumb thugs like mafiosi who have trouble imagining better solutions or ways to avoid the problems. That seems to fit MSV's SOP but I'm still mystified by what problem they think they're trying to solve.

I somehow have trouble buying that Eric left anything weapons grade-compromising on Maerc for Demon to find. What would that even be, the secret photos, programme brochures and expense paperwork from Maerc's invitational Thailand orphanage orgy tour? A look at the controversies and scandals that have been weathered by Blackwater-XE-Academi is instructive here about just what it takes to bring down a private military company in America.

"Terminator kill-crazy rampage"?

Yeah yeah, satisfying little morality play here--"Brock" and "Turner" make plans to commit sexually assault; get stabbed repeatedly.

Hope the message gets across.

It took me a few tries to parse that last panel. I think I have it now... she is going to die very soon, she is in fact a dead woman walking (if she could walk, but she's tied up, it's a metaphor, work with me here). Given the whole dead woman thing, raping her is the next thing to necrophilia. "I don't care whether [that] bitch's got a pulse" in this context means "it doesn't really matter whether she has a pulse now because she's very soon going to not have one."

By the way, typo: "that's bitch's" should just be "that bitch's".
